Taking down a 110 foot oak tree in the backyard
Doesn't look like it is about to fall over but there are 110 feet of heavy oak above those roots leaning away from the ground at about a 30-40 degree angle

Somewhat distorted angle but you can see how the other oak tree caught ours and kept it from falling onto our neighbors's new roof and house.

Good image of how the neighbor's oak kept ours from going any further. The lower section of their house is a covered patio and the upper section all bedrooms.

Rob from R&A Tree Removal Service about 30-40 feet up the tree chain sawing off the limbs to cut the weight and potential damage if the tree. He had climbed up to the top the day before and tied off our tree to the other one to prevent it from slipping off its resting point, becoming dislodged and falling.

This is the start of a real hair raising attempt to get the 36000 pound truck with the 100 foot crane on top into our side yard and close enough to the downed tree to allow the crane bucket to reach the top. The ground was soaked and muddy. He only got up past the plywood on the ground before spinning in the mud. They tried to winch the truck in with a long cable and another heavy dump truck but it kept sliding toward the garage and the house. I thought we were going to end up with the truck on its side and my garage wall caved in. They gave up trying to come in front first and backed in.

Backing the truck in wasn't a whole lot more successful but they were able to winch it further in. Notice the angle of the truck. It is about 3-4 feet from the house and the air conditioning compressor on muddy ground and a slope.

From the ground looking up. Most of the lower limbs have been removed and they are getting ready to tie the tree off and run the crane up to top it.

Rob again in the bucket at the end of the 100 foot crane. There is also a winch that will hold a 2000 pound dead weight suspended in air. He is getting ready to tie off a rope to hold the tree upright so they can start topping it and pulling it away from the other tree
